Healthy Halloween Tips

Healthy and fun – a great combination!

No matter what the Holiday, South Tabor Family Physicians wants you to consider balance around sweets and unhealthy foods and drinks. You can easily introduce healthier alternatives during the Holidays and still have a great time!

Nutrient rich foods are great alternatives to sugar and candy. These treats are still fun and also good for you!

  1. Grapes, apples, pears, oranges, bananas and other fruits and berries are naturally sweet.
  2. Adding fun recipes with vegetables, nuts or whole grains for snacking is another win.
  3. Try popcorn tossed with cinnamon and sugar!
  4. Pumpkin is rich in vitamin A. Pumpkin treats, such as fiber-packed cinnamon-roasted pumpkin seeds is a great snack to have around.

Many of these ideas have become holiday favorites in our homes.
