September marks Suicide Prevention Month, a time when we at South Tabor Family Physicians join the global effort to raise awareness about this critical issue. As your trusted healthcare providers, we’re committed to supporting our community’s mental health and well-being.
Suicide is a serious public health concern that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. By learning the warning signs and knowing how to help, we can all play a role in suicide prevention. Suicide was the 11th leading cause of death overall in the U.S. in 2021.

• Expressing feelings of hopelessness or having no purpose
• Talking about feeling trapped or being in unbearable pain
• Increased use of alcohol or drugs
• Withdrawing from friends, family, and activities
• Displaying extreme mood swings
• Having thoughts of self-harm or suicide
